Abstract

The paper aims to investigate some melodic-thematic aspects of one of the masterpieces of Romanian music from the second half of the 20th century, Mandala by Aurel Stroe. The creation of the emblematic Romanian composer is distinguished not only by an acutely original approach, but also by the intersection of stylistic, cultural and scientific areas that give a special complexity to his music, implicitly also to his melodic speech.
